Clean Air Ambassador | New Haven, Connecticut
I am a Marketing Representative for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. We represent these members to ensure they are treated fairly and that their employers pay their benefits and wages on time so that they can retire with dignity and respect.
We serve the working class families that are clearly affected the most as a direct result of living in the inner cities. It is in our interest and in the best interest of our members to be on the forefront of the battle towards a healthier environment for us all.
In the cities, we have a higher concentration of individuals (mainly children and elderly) whom are stricken with asthma and other bronchial ailments.
It is an honor for me to travel and meet with other individuals who are in the same fight and to have an opportunity to create change along with our respected legislators.
It is in our interest and in the best interest of our members to be on the forefront of the battle towards a healthier environment for us all.
50 States United For Healthy Air
Clean air should be a fundamental right. Air pollution causes asthma attacks, lung disease, and even death. But our bodies don't have to be the dumping ground for dirty industries.
The technology to dramatically reduce harmful air pollution is available today, and major polluters should be required to use it.
Clean Air Ambassadors from every state are sending a powerful message: Everyone has a right to breathe clean, healthy air.
It’s time Congress and the EPA used their ears to help our lungs.
