This dirty oil refinery station is just one of the many kinds of facilities that affect the quality of our air. Every year, this industry releases dangerous pollutants into the air that we breathe. It’s time to use clean energy.
Clean Air Ambassador | Mayagüez, Puerto Rico
Angelica Abreu Fontanez
My name is Angelica Abreu Fontanez. Since I was a little girl, I have had the urge to protect the environment.
I am the president of Green Campus at Mayagüez Campus. Green Campus is a movement that educates the students and the community on the management of the planet resources. I coordinate activities to create conscious about the importance of live in harmony with the nature. Green Campus presents alternatives like: beach cleaning, eco-films, conferences, sowing, etc.
As the years have gone by, I have come to realize how our actions are destroying our planet, this unique and fragile system. My goal is to carry on this message of protecting our planet and cleaning our air to society, in order to build a better world for future generations.
Since I was a little girl, I have had the urge to protect the environment … As the years have gone by, I have come to realize how our actions are destroying our planet, this unique and fragile system.
50 States United For Healthy Air
Clean air should be a fundamental right. Air pollution causes asthma attacks, lung disease, and even death. But our bodies don't have to be the dumping ground for dirty industries.
The technology to dramatically reduce harmful air pollution is available today, and major polluters should be required to use it.
Clean Air Ambassadors from every state are sending a powerful message: Everyone has a right to breathe clean, healthy air.
It’s time Congress and the EPA used their ears to help our lungs.
