In the state of Michigan, Detroit is the epicenter of the asthma epidemic. That’s due in no small part to the prevalence of big polluting facilities like the Marathon Oil Refinery. Full enforcement of the Clean Air Act could go a long way to making the air safer for Detroiters to breathe.

Clean Air Ambassador | Dearborn, Michigan

Robert Ramirez

I come from Detroit, which has the third worst polluted air in the U.S. causing asthma. Clean air is important to me because it affects all of us, especially the lives of our children and elderly folks. And unfortunately, it’s mostly in a minority areas that are being effected.

Congress needs to take a stronger stand and not let the corporations keep polluting our air for profits. I am blessed to be in D.C. and share our experience on fighting for clean air and doing this together.

50 States United For Healthy Air

Clean air should be a fundamental right. Air pollution causes asthma attacks, lung disease, and even death. But our bodies don't have to be the dumping ground for dirty industries.

The technology to dramatically reduce harmful air pollution is available today, and major polluters should be required to use it.

Clean Air Ambassadors from every state are sending a powerful message: Everyone has a right to breathe clean, healthy air.

It’s time Congress and the EPA used their ears to help our lungs.
