Clean Air Ambassador:

Harry Wang, MD

Sacramento, CA

My family has always enjoyed being in the outdoors in nature. We hike in California's Sierra Nevada mountains every year and enjoy daily walks along the Sacramento River. Our daughter's asthma and hospitalization at age eight brought my professional concerns about the impact of poor air quality to a very personal level.

We deserve clean air for all our citizens to breathe, especially our children, seniors, and those with chronic health issues. The science is clear about the devastating health effects of air pollution and what needs to be done to protect our community. The Clean Air Act must be fully implemented. Attempts to weaken this public health law or undermine the authority of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency should be rejected.

All Messages: Supporting Our Clean Air Ambassadors.

Harry-- I am reminded of a wonderful children's song by Raffi that evokes your important efforts:

All I really need is a song in my heart
Food in my belly
And love in my family...
And I need some clean water for drinking
And I needs some clean air for breathing
So that I can grow up strong
Take my place where I belong

Thank you for everything you are doing for all of our children.

Thank you very very much for all your efforts now and for the future!!

Thank you, Harry- your work is so important to us and our future generations, not to mention the entire planet.

Thank you for your hard work and we wish that you succeed! We need you to succeed!!

Thank you for your work in getting us cleaner air. There are so many people suffering from the effects of bad air that it should be a top priority to clean up the atmosphere.

We need more people like you to get the word out and let them know we will not be deprived of the breath of life.

Thank you Harry! Keep up the good fight for clean air

The rising rates of asthma in American youths, particularly in urban areas, reflect a social disease that demands attention. If we want our children to have the physical ability to climb mountains and see the green Earth below them, we must crush all efforts to weaken this legislation. Thank you for your diligent efforts to stop those who seek to poison our air with toxic gases.

GO U. HARRY!!!! From SacraTOMATO!!!

GO CLEAN AIR ACT!!!! YEAH U.Harry!!!

There are few things as important as the availability of clean air. One thing that is often overlooked in the argument for defending clean air is reality of air deposition of pollutants as a proven contribution to the denigration of water quality (see watershed studies on the Chesapeake Bay).

enough is enough...we need change!

Want better air, water, land, overall quality of life...The bottom line for improvement of all earthlings if for humans to stop having so many offspring.

While I agree that uncontrolled population growth combined with the globalization of the "Western" lifestyle is the core cause of our planet's unacceptable change in climate. The EPA doesn't address family planning. You might want to look into the Population Institute... they are working hard to fight those who don't understand the need to provide these services. There may be some other good NGO's addressing this but they seem have it together, fwiw.

Thank you for all that you do!

Thank you, Dr. Wang!

I have a desk job, so it's important that I take time to exercise every day. If the air outside is too filled with vehicle exhaust, factory smoke, pesticides blown in on the winds, or other chemical hazards, that makes the outdoor activities I rely on to stay healthy (and happy) even worse for my health than my desk job!

People, especially the young, need to be able to be active outside.

Thank you so very much for your clean air advocacy.

I walk everyday as part of my exercise routine. I need clean air in order to have a better kind of healthy life. I also suffer from allergy especially when the wind is very strong and on top of that dirty air!
No wonder people suffer like me.

There need to be better clean air vehicle standards so that the people living in houses along HWYS and busy roads can have fresh, safe air to breathe.

Joggers and bicyclists depend on clean air along streets as well!!!

Can't do anything if the air isn't clean!

All life needs clean air. It is a basic right. It is, as you say, a health issue. Environmental protection needs our support. Thank you for that support.

all creatures need clean air to breathe-it is a basic right

all creatures need clean air-it is a basic right

I like to exercise outdoors, especially hiking and swimming and I don't want my health to suffer from breathing polluted air as I exercise. The harm of the pollutants negates some of the benefits of exercising.

The polluting industries and their bought politicians must be held accountable for the continued degradation of the air we breathe. All life on Earth is dependent on clean air. Clean air is a basic human right along with clean water, tax-payer financed health care, universal education, secure and well-paid jobs, environmental sustainability and the right to live in peace and not tolerate war or war mongers. All agencies created to protect the common good must be fully financed and environmental laws must be rigorously and systematically enforced against all violators including government agencies and institutions. Nothing less should be tolerated, negotiated away or postponed any longer.

Support for the Clean Air Act is essential for the survival of all air breathing life on our planet.

Thank you for your commitment to fighting for this most vital cause.

To: Harry Wang,M.D. Thank you for supporting the Clean Air Act!! We need clean air for all humans, wildlife, plant life, oceans and rivers too.

Thank you so very much, Dr. Wang, for being committed to the health of the planet and all of its inhabitants, this, to me, is mere common sense.

We need the medical community to support clean air as a public health issue. My mom gasps for breath all day long because of her severe COPD. I suffered from childhood asthma. I often wonder if I will be able to breathe in my old age - I'm in my fifties now.

Thank you Dr. Wang for being our advocate.

Thank you for your work. Air and Water are sacred gifts, and I encourage you to continue you great actions to help keep it clean for all generations.I have a serious health issue so I fight with you for this Clean Air Act.

Physicians speaking out about the health effects of dirty air and other environmental poisons is vital. We support your call for implementation of the Clean Air Act. Hopefully our collective voices will be heard.

We need to take care of each other, our children, and our children's children. What will the generations to come have to think and say about us, their forefathers, when they have to deal with the devastating effects that we are already suffering from. Clean air, along with clean water, land and food are basic staples that we cannot forget to care about. Where are our consciences?

Thank you, Dr. Harry Wang for fighting for us!

We still don't have clean air in Los Angeles. I am grateful for your commitment to fight for it. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your work regarding this issue. Not only the human race but all walks of life (including our earth) need clean air and water to thrive. We must walk gently on the earth if we expect Mother Earth to sustain us.

Clean air is important to me because I need to share it with the one's I love.

Air, like water is one of the vital forces required for survival. Therefore it must be CLEAN and viable to breathe!

I fully support and thank you in this mission we all have a responsibility in. I do suggest for PR purposes that you change your public name to avoid ridicule by anti-environmentalists

Even capitalists cannot escape the need to breathe clean air. You would think that they would get it. It is a very sad comment on our values as a society that we need someone to acvocate for clean air! Thanks, Dr. Wang, for taking on the task.

Thank you Dr. Wang for advocating for clean air. I have a 3 mo. old son and we live near a busy street in the LA area: terrible air quality. I try to do my part by buying wind generated electricity, but there is so much to be done. I am so thankful for your efforts to help make my son's life better. Peace.

Thank you, Dr. Wang, for speaking out on behalf of us all. Perhaps soon we can breathe a sigh of relief with the knowledge that our air is clean, safe and healthy.

Breathing clean air is our birth right. Enough of politicians siding with interest groups who put their own profits before the health of millions of children. Thank you for standing against them.

We are long overdue for a values realignment. Let's take care of our earth and our air. Thank you, Harry Want.

Thank you for supporting clean air for all of us!

I am there with you in the knowledge that we have the right to fresh clean air filling our lungs and creating our better health and overall stronger, thus happier well-being !

I live in the Los Angeles area, an area with the country's worst air. Clean air is vital for good health and a good life. Keep up the good work. The support and enforcement of the Clean Air Act is a "no-brainer". I can't comprehend why anyone would want to weaken it. What good is money if you don't have your health? And, don't those who oppose it have families that they love and want to see thrive?

Breathing is not optional. Cleaning our air is NOT OPTIONAL. The Clean Air Act MUST be fully implemented & even made stronger. Attempts to weaken this public health law or undermine the authority of the U.S. EPA must be rejected & corporate polluters MUST be required to cut into their profits to remediate the damages they have done to our earth, our AIR, & all of our HEALTH!

Thank you for taking this on for all of us and for future generations!

Yes, the Clean Air Act must include the monitoring and reporting to the public about the radioactive nuclides present. The public has the right to know, as it affects their health adversely.
