RIGHT TO BREATHE: 50 STATES UNITED

We deserve clean air for all our citizens to breathe, especially our children, seniors, and those with chronic health issues.

Profession: Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
Group Affiliation: Physicians for Social Responsibility, President of the Sacramento Chapter

Clean Air Ambassador:

Harry Wang, MD

Sacramento, CA

My family has always enjoyed being in the outdoors in nature. We hike in California's Sierra Nevada mountains every year and enjoy daily walks along the Sacramento River. Our daughter's asthma and hospitalization at age eight brought my professional concerns about the impact of poor air quality to a very personal level.

We deserve clean air for all our citizens to breathe, especially our children, seniors, and those with chronic health issues. The science is clear about the devastating health effects of air pollution and what needs to be done to protect our community. The Clean Air Act must be fully implemented. Attempts to weaken this public health law or undermine the authority of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency should be rejected.

Thank you Harry! I'm glad someone's standing up for us!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Thank you Harry!

Thank you for standing up for us!

clean air is the least we should all expect from a supposedly civilized society. How else can we develop a healthy body and outlook. Thank you for the work that you are doing for all of us.

thank you Harry Wang. we are on your side.

It should be criminal for industry to dump their waste into the air I breath. Proper disposal of their garbage should be required.

i have extreme allergies and require clean air and must stay indoors when the air is not clear and clean. i appreciate you and all others who are in support of clean air!!!

Great job!

We all deserve to breathe clean air. Having an asthmatic daughter & 2 close friends with lung disease (one of whom has passed away), I am acutely aware of this sad problem. Thank you for your efforts.

I agree completely with Harry Wang.

Thank you for supporting clean air!

As a trained specialist in Lung Disease, I cannot see why anyone in an elected office would not support a measure that improves the health of their constituants. People exposed to dirty air get crippled with lung disease and die early. Why would anyone in an elected office or acting as an employee of a government agency not want to prevent that if they could?

Clean air keeps us all alive, all of life is needed for all to survive.

Clean air keeps us all alive, all of life is needed for all to survive.

Clean air keeps us all alive, all of life is needed for all to survive.

Clean air is a right in the natural world--stop the greed of polluters who don't care what they do to our environment NOW!

Thank you! I'm not sure why those congress-critters need to be told clean air is important, but I guess they do. Thanks for telling them that we all KNOW it is!

Thank you for taking this on for all of us and for future generations! Clean air is a win win situation: less medical costs, less days missed from school and work, and a healthy environment. I thank you and the earth thanks you!

The necessity of pure air is a "no-brainer." It's too bad so much money is spent trying to convince our representatives in Washington, DC, that dirty are is OK or even good for us. I am with you 100%.

Thank you for stepping up to the very important plate of supporting clean air protections. Your "Clean Air Ambassadorship" is essential for the health and well-being of our citizens.

Of course I, as well as all of us, everywhere, support clean air because that is what we all want and need! So I support our Clean Air Ambassadors for standing up for the cause, and showing so much concern for our right to have and breathe clean air; hopefully from now until there are no more tomorrows! Thank you so much Harry!

keep up the good fight.

thank you for you help!!

Clean air so others don't getting failing grades in school from the effects of "bad air", much as I did get. And, so that the Ponderosa pine that have been dying from smog since the 1950s will not continue to do so.

Thank you for taking this on for all of us and for future generations! Clean air is a win win situation: less medical costs, less days missed from school and work, and a healthy environment. I thank you and the earth thanks you!

You're the cutest tomatoe ever! Thank You Mr. H!

Thanks for fighting for clean air. It's very much appreciated.

Good for you Dr. Wang. We not only need clean air but we also need clean water, clean food and a clean working and living environment. This is just the beginning of a long battle to rid ourselves of the thousands of toxins we are exposed to in our environment and which reside in our bodies.

Harry, you are "the man"!

Thank you Harry Wang. We need someone like you. You get my full support.

Thank you for talking on my behalf to the legislators of the USA. Clean Air should not be negotiable. The world's polluters must be held accountable for continuing to pollute our environment!

I work with very young children and have seen an increase in asthma and other respiratory diseases over the past 20 years. Not to mention several adults I know who have developed adult onset asthma The Clean Air Act should be strengthened, not weakened!

Thank you Harry! I support you and this is a crucial effort to save the air for future generations and all living creatures. The earth is a sacred gift to us.

Thank you, Harry Wang, for voicing a sane position on clean air! Politics and government are desperately in need of educated and intelligent people, who are capable making informed choices!

i remember when it was so smoggy here in Los Angeles, that for most of the summer you could not see the foot hills from the beach. We cannot go back to that again.

Thanks!

We deserve clean air.

Please help ensure clean air for our children to breath. (I have two young children, 6 and 8 years old.) I do not want our children -the children of America- to have to breath fine particulate matter, mercury, and other toxicants and carcinogens.

Clean air is essential for a long, healthy life. Thank you for your efforts to ensure it!

How can there even be a question about the importance of clean air?

Thank you for your efforts, Dr. Wang.

Right on, Harry. My wife Marcy and I are also Sierra, Yosemite, and Southwest hikers and want to see the air kept pristene. Best regards

Clean air is a necessity! It's a RIGHT.
There is not a right to pollute...

Since we have laws to stop smokers from polluting the air within 20 feet of an office building entrance , and no smoking laws for many public places, why aren't we treating air polluters the way tobacco companies were treated?

Since the American Cancer Society says that smoking, and second hand smoke harms children ( not to mention adults and other living things, )why aren't the lawyers lining up to pursue coal, and oil and other deadly polluters in the same way that tobacco was treated?

It's time to move from the tobacco leaf to the polluter brief, don't you think? Where are the public health lawyers? We're waiting, because, after all, with asthma and lung diseases caused by dirty air and polluted environments....how much cheaper would health insurance be for all of us if the polluters paid the price instead of the people?***

We must have clean air. Thank you.

Thank you for bringing some sense to a crazy world!

Clean air saves our country money in health care costs and lost productivity. It's also aesthetically preferable, not to mention a basic human right!

Everyone deserves clean air to breathe.

Clean air is essential. Thank you for being our ambassador.
