Clean Air Ambassador: Tony DeFalco

To protect our right to breathe clean air, our leaders in D.C. should increase incentives for business and individuals to utilize mass transit.

I grew up in Southern California where I felt the effects of playing outside in smog with shortness of breath on certain days. I didn't really think anything of it at the time—I just thought it was a natural part of the environment.

In my career as a community and environmental advocate, I've worked for clean air and water, and for green jobs to create clean air and water. In Portland, OR, we're affected by benzene, coarse particles and other pollutants related to auto and truck emissions, which have a disparate impact on low income communities and communities of color living right along the I-5 corridor.

To protect our right to breathe clean air, our leaders in D.C. should increase incentives for business and individuals to utilize mass transit.
