Women's Voices for the Earth
Women's Voices for the Earth (WVE) is a national organization that engages women to advocate for the right to live in a healthy environment.
WVE seeks to reduce and ultimately eliminate environmental pollutants that cause health problems for women, their families and communities. To this end, WVE creates opportunities for women to influence environmental decision-making.
Unfortunately, there are some 85,000 chemicals in the consumer marketplace, and only a fraction of them have ever been tested for their impact on human health. Many of these chemicals are now known or suspected to contribute to a long list of diseases including cancer, developmental disabilities, heart disease, infertility and reproductive harm.
WVE's goal is to educate the public about the harmful effects of chemicals, particularly those that affect women, and provide them with the tools they need to protect themselves and effectively advocate for a healthy environment.
