Federal judge continues to ponder injunction request by Earthjustice
First wolf killed in Idaho hunt. Photo released by Idaho Fish and Game.

Wolf hunting began this morning in Idaho, as a federal judge continues to consider an urgent request by Earthjustice and allies to halt the hunting. A young female was reportedly the first wolf killed.

Earthjustice attorney Doug Honnold argued Monday for an injunction to stall hunting in both Idaho and Montana as part of a lawsuit seeking to restore protection of the wolves under the Endangered Species Act. Protections were removed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Idaho is allowing 255 wolves to be killed, and Montana 75.

Well, I didn't really know that wolves are considered endangered species in Idaho so I was surprised to read this post. Although I do like to eat burgers and other kinds of meat that are grilled on the rival griddle, I do feel sorry when I hear about animals that were killed even if I use the electric griddle often for different dishes that includes eggs or meat.

thanskssssss

Obviously they kill they're WILD ANIMALS, and i understand that wolves do kill humans on occasion because of it, but not close at all to the amount you north face outlet hunters do!! And I'm 100% sure that most of hunters do not kill to "avenge" those who were killed by wolves, but just to win the S-P-O-R-T! ridiculous to use that news post as an excuse for hunting. And no wonder wolves have a grudge against humans, if I were a wolf I would want to rip off your head too.

I am wondering what everything can be possibly involved to release all permits that allow mining companies to do all this. Are there no restrictions? EPA should prepare strict rules that avoid any harm to the landscape and surrounded nature. I hope that it will be stopped soon. dan pompa
