Time is of the essence, folks. The state of our honey bees is in danger. There’s a ghastly bill up for vote today before the California Legislature—a bill that would postpone any action by the state’s Department of Pesticide Regulation to ban bee-killing pesticides until 2020.

The bees and our communities deserve protection. Scientists believe neonictinoid pesticides are a major reason for bee die-offs and neonics have been linked to Colony Collapse Disorder. Did you know that nearly one-third of all honey bees in our country have perished? AB 1789 would postpone any decision-making on these pesticides to 2020, putting food sources and the bee populations in grave danger as one in every three bites of food depends on bees for pollination. We cannot afford to wait six MORE years for regulation
