Lawsuit Filed Over Approval of Crude by Rail Project in the Bay Area

Highly explosive fracked crude oil from shale fields in North Dakota has been travelling through Richmond by train for 6 months; the Bay Area Air Quality Management District approved the project without any environmental review. Earthjustice filed a lawsuit to shut down the terminal until a full environmental impact report is completed.

Expanding Crude Oil Exports in Albany, NY

In recent years Albany, NY has become a hub for crude oil exploration, but opposition has grown as one energy company plans to expand operations and ship Tar Sands oil from Canada into Albany. The new projects are of concern given the increased risk that there hasn't been an adequate environmental assessment of response strategy in case of a spill.
