Maps of Range of Endangered and Threatened Salmon

These maps show the ranges of endangered and threatened salmon and steelhead in Washington, Oregon, and California by Evolutionary Significant Unit, or "ESU," as well as the ESUs' overlap with urban areas over 50,000 people. The ESU boundaries are based on data from the National Marine Fisheries Service, and were developed by the GIS group at the Bonneville Power Administration. The urban area data is drawn from the 2000 U.S. Census. The maps were produced for Earthjustice and the plaintiffs by the Conservation Biology Institute.
