Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund, formerly the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund, the country’s premiere non-profit environmental law firm, will launch its web site (www.earthjustice.org), on Earth Day, April 22, 1998.

The site was developed by San Francisco-based Novo/Ironlight (www.novoironlight.com), a leading interactive business solutions provider, and features images by celebrated photographer Galen Rowell and text by acclaimed writer Tom Turner.

Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund represents hundreds of environmental organizations across the country, from local groups like the Alaska Center for the Environment to large national organizations, such as The Wilderness Society, The Natural Resources Defense Council and the Sierra Club. Visitors to the web site can read about the Legal Defense Fund’s key program areas: Forests, Wildlife, Water, Air, Public Lands, Health, Communities, and International Trade and Human Rights.

Visitors can also take a look at the firm’s docket of ongoing cases as well as highlights of previous legal efforts in the Legal Defense Fund’s 27-year history.

There are links to additional informational resources, and visitors are encouraged to participate in environmental activism by sending out Action Alert emails to elected officials. They are also invited to make donations to support the Legal Defense Fund’s work.

“For the past quarter-century, the Legal Defense Fund has demonstrated the power of the courts in giving citizens and organizations the tools to fight effectively for environmental protection. We’re excited at the prospect of being a new address on the Internet where people can find information vital to their interests,” said Buck Parker, president of Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund.

“Novo/Ironlight is proud to participate in a project which works for the benefit of our natural resources, our children, and our communities,” stated Ronald Wagner, Chief Communications Officer.
