Earthjustice president Trip Van Noppen said, "We won far more than we lost, but we didn't win them all. Some of the Bush/Cheney anti-environmental policies will outlast this presidency. Even with the election of Barack Obama, there will be plenty of work to do to reverse the most damaging of these anti-environment rules and restore balance to the environment. Earthjustice expects to be very busy in the years to come helping to clean up all the damage."
Earthjustice has identified six critical areas where the new Obama administration can take fairly quick and easy steps to stop or reverse some of the environmental damage wrought by the Bush administration.
There are many other things the new administration could and should do to heal the environmental damage caused by the Bush administration. This list is not all encompassing, but it's a start.
