Coal is America’s most abundant fuel, also its dirtiest. Earthjustice has battled for cleaner air with a wide variety of actions that seek to ensure strong regulations that are vigorously enforced. In addition, the organization works with people in Appalachia defending themselves and their surroundings from the ravages of coal mining, most recently a barbaric practice known as "mountaintop removal" mining.
