According to reports, President Trump today signed an executive order that would undermine public input and environmental reviews for infrastructure projects, tilting the playing field in favor of special interests and wealthy corporations at the expense of communities across the country.

The following is a statement from Raul Garcia, Earthjustice Legislative Counsel:

“The executive order President Trump reportedly signed today stinks of cronyism. President Trump is trying to short-circuit the crucial project review process so that his administration can rubber-stamp projects that benefit wealthy corporations at the expense of the public. This has nothing to do with streamlining the existing process—it’s a transparent attempt to silence the public, scrap crucial health and safety protections, and pave the way for more backroom deal-making to cater to special interests.”
