Today, the White House announced the members of an Environmental Justice Advisory Council tasked with addressing current and historical environmental injustices on impacted communities. President Biden established the advisory council in January by executive order.

The following is a statement from Abigail Dillen, Earthjustice president:

“We are thrilled to see environmental justice champions bring their leadership and expertise to the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council. President Biden committed to partnering with frontline communities and bringing equity and justice in decision-making. This is a critical step in the right direction. We look forward to working with the Biden administration and communities facing environmental injustice, to advance equitable climate solutions and fix the unjust pollution control system that has disproportionately burdened people color.”
