Rachel Rintelmann is the managing attorney of the Community Partnerships Program, where she partners with frontline community groups to fight for a safe, equitable, and healthy environment.

Before joining Earthjustice, Rachel served as the Legal Director of Systemic Advocacy and Law Reform at Legal Aid DC. In this capacity, she oversaw the organization’s policy advocacy, appellate litigation, impact litigation, and community lawyering programs. Rachel spearheaded efforts to identify and implement both litigation and non-litigation strategies aimed at addressing systemic inequities affecting low-income residents of D.C. Her work focused on critical areas such as safe and affordable housing, access to public benefits, family law, and consumer and immigrants’ rights. Rachel established Legal Aid’s Community Lawyering Program, ensuring that all advocacy efforts were informed by and aligned with the priorities of impacted communities.

Rachel graduated from Butler University and the University of Michigan Law School. She is based in the Washington, D.C. office.
