EPA's Global Warming Endangerment Finding Challenged

Case Number # 2033

Earthjustice is representing Environmental Defense Fund as an intervener against industry court challenges to the U.S. EPA’s scientific finding that global warming pollution endangers public health in America. In 2009, the EPA determined that emissions of greenhouse gases from new motor vehicles contribute to pollution that causes climate change, and that climate change threatens human health and the environment.

The EPA has so far denied 10 petitions to reconsider its finding, determining that the petitions had no merit and conflicted with volumes of scientific data and research. Court challenges to the EPA finding continue, however, and Earthjustice will continue to oppose them.
