Members of the Metro Electric Bus Coalition are petitioning the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) Ethics Committee to investigate Virginia Metro board member Matthew Letourneau’s conflict of interest regarding Metro’s plans to continue to buy fossil fuel buses throughout this decade and install new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure.

Youth Plaintiffs are children of Hawai‘i — keiki o ka ‘āina (children of this land) — who are being seriously injured because Defendants establish, maintain, and operate a state transportation system that violates Hawai‘i constitutional mandates to protect public trust resources and the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and decarbonizing the transportation sector.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is opening a docket to obtain data and information on the use of ortho-phthalates (or “phthalates”) for food contact applications. FDA is seeking scientific data and information on current uses, use levels, dietary exposure, and safety data of certain ortho-phthalates to support the review of the current use levels and safe use of these ortho-phthalates in food contact applications.

Specifically, NMFS has failed to complete required consultation under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) regarding the effects of NMFS’s continued authorization of two fisheries managed under the Fishery Ecosystem Plan for Pacific Pelagic Fisheries of the Western Pacific Region on the oceanic whitetip shark. By failing to complete consultation, NMFS is failing to ensure that these activities do not jeopardize the continued existence of the species, in violation of Section 7 of the ESA and its implementing regulations.
