Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen released the following statement on the National Climate Assessment released today:

“While President Trump continues to ignore the threat of climate change, his own administration is sounding the alarm. This report underscores what we are already seeing firsthand: climate change is real, it’s happening here, and it’s happening now.

“This warning comes as California recovers from the most destructive wildfire in our history. Across the country, climate change is fueling more extreme weather that threatens our health, our homes, and our economy. We can’t let this become the new normal.

“We know what we need to do to solve climate change, and the solutions are within our reach. At Earthjustice, we’re fighting for a swift and just transition away from fossil fuels towards 100 percent clean energy.

“It’s time to hold our elected officials accountable and demand action to protect our families and our communities. As this report makes clear, we have no time to waste.”
