Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen released a statement today in response to a federal court ruling blocking the Biden administration from considering new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applicants.

“The latest federal ruling against DACA once again throws the fate of countless young immigrants and their families into chaos and uncertainty. Although it temporarily leaves intact the status of current DACA recipients, the ruling will hurt the future of many other young people brought to this country as children. They share the same universal aspiration for safety, prosperity, and living up to their full potential as we all do, and this ruling unjustly denies them of that opportunity.

“We call on Congress once again to work on bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform that will deliver true justice and security for immigrants families seeking a better life.”
