Conchita Lozano-Batista is the General Counsel of Earthjustice, where she leads the organization’s legal function across enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, and international operations.
The foundation of her legal practice is sixteen years as a shareholder at Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld, a California labor and employment firm, where she represented nonprofit organizations, unions, and employee benefit plans in matters spanning labor and employment law, ERISA compliance, fiduciary duty litigation, workplace investigations, regulatory compliance, and governmental investigations before the Department of Labor and IRS. She also negotiated pension and health and welfare fund mergers in California and Arizona and helped her clients pursue legislative fixes.
Beyond her legal practice, Conchita has sustained a long record of civic engagement. She has served as Chairperson of San Francisco’s Sweatfree Procurement Advisory Group since 2012, was a member of the AFL-CIO’s Diversity and Racial Justice Committee, and served for fifteen years on the board of Human Rights Advocates, a Berkeley-based international human rights organization. She currently sits on the Board of Governors of the University of San Francisco School of Law.
Conchita holds a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a B.A. from UC Berkeley, and is fluent in Spanish.
