Fight Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling
Fight Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling
At the end of 2016, the Obama administration finalized an offshore drilling plan that excluded the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Now the Trump administration wants to reverse course. Its new offshore drilling proposal would offer up to 90 percent of our ocean waters to energy companies to drill for oil and gas over a five-year period and is the largest single expansion of offshore drilling activity ever proposed.
In addition to the risk of pollution and oil spills, new offshore oil drilling would lock us into decades of fossil fuel production and exacerbate climate disruption.
For years, Earthjustice has fought reckless proposals to drill in our oceans. With your help, we’ll continue to battle the Trump administration’s attempts to reverse permanent protections for the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, and to expand offshore drilling.
