“On Monday, June 23, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced that the Trump administration intends to rescind the Roadless Rule, the most important land and forest protection measure of our lifetimes.
“The Roadless Rule protects roadless areas in National Forests from having new roads built there and makes it impossible, for example, for logging companies, to clearcut those areas.
“The proposed action is a top-down attack on a rule that was created from the ground-up. The Roadless Rule was the product of hundreds of public hearings and more than a million and a half public comments.
“After the Roadless Rule was issued, the timber industry tried to destroy it.
“We defended the Roadless Rule. We won every single one of those lawsuits, and protected it in court from the attack of the timber industry.
“If the Trump administration finalizes this idea of deleting the Roadless Rule, we'll see them in court.
