Madeline Gallo

Title: Associate Attorney

Bar Admissions: NY, AK

Madeline joined Earthjustice in 2011 after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School and clerking briefly for U.S. District Court Judge John R. Tunheim in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During law school, Madeline was an Outside Articles Editor for Law and Inequality: A Journal of Theory and Practice, and published a note on environmental justice issues resulting from industrial contamination on an Ojibwe reservation. She also interned for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division and was a student instructor for her law school’s first-year legal research and writing course.

Madeline graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature and German. Surprised to find a lackluster job market in those fields, she became a paralegal for The Nature Conservancy for four years, where she strengthened her lifelong interest in and passion for conservation and environmentalism before beginning law school. Her other interests include playing music, ice skating in the winter, and doing anything outdoors during long Alaskan summer days.
