Yana Garcia is an associate attorney with the California regional office in San Francisco.
Prior to joining Earthjustice, Yana was a staff attorney at Communities for a Better Environment where she litigated environmental justice cases and provided non-litigation legal advocacy for the organization’s local, regional and state-wide campaigns out of both Southern California and Oakland. As an environmental justice advocate, Yana’s experience has been focused on facility permitting, local and state agency oversight and enforcement, information access, and public participation in environmental decision making. She has worked on issues ranging from crude oil extraction, refining and transport, to land use and regulation of toxics.
Yana holds a bachelor degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a J.D from Northeastern University School of Law.
