Raghu Murthy is a deputy managing attorney for the Clean Energy Program. He is based out of the Northeast Office in New York.

His work is focused on challenging proposed gas plants, primarily in state public utility commissions in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. Prior to Earthjustice, Raghu worked with the Eastern Environmental Law Center, where he represented nonprofit clients in a wide variety of New Jersey energy and environmental matters. Raghu began his career with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Group; during his eight-year tenure, he represented the State in hundreds of cases of environmental enforcement litigation against polluters and regulated entities. Raghu graduated from Rutgers University, and then earned an M.S. from Northern Illinois University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Outside of work, Raghu likes to spend time with family, watch sports, and explore Jersey City and New York City.
