Jessica Ennis is the legislative director for climate and energy in the Policy & Legislation department at Earthjustice. Jessica combines strategic policy development with effective coalition and partnership building to advocate for policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and hazardous air pollution. She is passionate about using public policy to address environmental challenges, and currently leads a team of advocates working to combat climate change and improve public health.
Prior to her current position, Jessica worked on legislation and regulations to protect people, public lands and the environment from the impacts of oil and gas development. Some of her work has contributed to the finalization of pro-environment legislation and regulation on issues ranging from reducing methane emissions from the oil and gas sector, to removing barriers to clean energy by creating a community solar program.
Jessica graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business with her Executive MBA in 2020. She is also a University of Maryland undergraduate, with dual degrees in Journalism and Government & Politics.
