Meagan Burton

Meagan Burton is a Senior Associate Attorney with the Northeast regional office in New York.
Prior to joining Earthjustice, Meagan served as a public defender in Boston for five years. During that time, she also volunteered with the Massachusetts Bar Association, Access to Justice Section Council, and worked with community mental health providers and a variety of governmental departments to create Norfolk County’s first Mental Health Court.
Meagan has a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, where she was a member of the Prisoners’ Rights Clinic and the Black Law Students Association. Before law school, she worked in San Francisco and Washington, D.C., as a paralegal on civil litigation and in Hartford, CT, as a lobbying assistant.
