Priya Sampath is the director of the Foundation Relations team, based out of the Northeast office.
Prior to Earthjustice, Priya has had a distinguished career in international development and humanitarian organizations, most recently, with Habitat for Humanity International, and prior to that, CARE USA. She has worked in Resource Development for over ten years, having previously worked in public policy and programs teams. While leading teams at Habitat and CARE, Priya helped to build the cross-functional infrastructure for the Foundations teams, working with finance, legal, program, and other key stakeholders to ensure consistency in how grants were solicited, processed, managed, and stewarded. She spent years building and leading the teams to cultivate and manage relationships with some of the most respected foundations in the U.S., securing first-time and repeat grants as well as expanding the areas of funding for both organizations. She has a Sloan Fellows MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management, and an MPA in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
Priya lives with her family in Westchester County, NY, where she enjoys the outdoors and being active — working out, running, biking, hiking, kayaking, though NOT camping. She loves to cook and entertain and read, sometimes all three at the same time. She was born in India and grew up around the country and in Africa (Nigeria and Egypt), came to U.S., for graduate school and worked around the globe — as a result of which, Priya speaks many languages. Her belief in continuous self-improvement has led her to amass a collection of handouts and 3-point plans for pretty much anything in life or work.
