Sorangel Liriano is a litigation assistant in the Sustainable Food & Farming Program, and is based out of the Northeast office in New York.
Sorangel graduated in 2018 from Columbia University, where she studied Political Science and Human Rights. She has a long-standing interest in environmental justice, stemming from her experience growing up near a heavily polluting detergent factory in the Dominican Republic. Before joining Earthjustice, Sorangel worked with the New York City Urban Debate League, the New York Times, the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Garden, and buildOn, an organization that pairs with high school students to build schools in developing countries. Sorangel enjoys travel and photography, and she has an intermediate knowledge of Finnish!
Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit environmental law organization. We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change. We are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.
