The Earthjustice Lawyers Taking On
the Trump Administration

At Earthjustice, we are the lawyers for the environment, fighting lawlessness with lawsuits.

Our attorneys are taking President Trump to court where facts — not gaslighting — carry the day.

Meet some of the lawyers behind our cases, and learn how they’re defending our land, air, and water against the Trump administration’s unprecedented threats.

A woman in a brown suit, and floral patterned burgundy blouse stands with her hands holding one another in front of her, one elbow leaning lightly on a guardrail.

We are challening Governor DeSantis and the Trump administration’s illegal detention center in Florida. Earthjustice attorney Tania Galloni and our partners argued that the Everglades in Florida evolved to shelter water birds, the endangered Florida panther, and miles of mangroves — not a massive jail.

On day one in office, President Trump tried to illegally open millions of acres of protected ocean to oil and gas drilling. Earthjustice attorney Steve Mashuda is leading a team fighting Trump’s action in court on behalf of coastal communities. We successfully stopped Trump from selling parts of the Arctic and Atlantic oceans in his first term. We’re ready to take him on again.

The Trump administration unlawfully terminated the Environmental Protection Agency’s grants for community-based climate and environmental programs. These grants invested in communities across the country that need them the most, with projects ranging from improving disaster preparedness to combating high energy costs. Earthjustice attorney Hana Vizcarra is defending dozens of communities who dream of creating a healthier environment for all.

We took the Trump administration to court for trying to illegally open the Pacific Islands Heritage Marine National Monument to commercial fishing — and won. The ruling protects sharks, turtles, and other marine life from devastation, safeguarding one of the world's most pristine ocean ecosystems. Earthjustice attorney David Henkin has defended Pacific environments for decades — including at the Supreme Court. Now, he’s won in court to keep this vital monument protected.

Be the first to know when we beat Trump in court.

And join the fight with Earthjustice. The earth needs people like you to rise up, speak out, and fight back.  Add your name to the chorus defending our planet and demanding a healthy environment for all.
