EPA Report on Imperial Regional Detention Facility

Notice of warning from Environmental Protection Agency to CEO of Management and Training Corporation (MTC) re: disinfectant use at Imperial Regional Detention Facility. MTC advised to take all necessary action to ensure that any further use of pesticides takes place in accordance with the directions and precautionary statements on the pesticide label, and in full compliance with the provisions of FIFRA. Failure to do so could be subject to further enforcement action.

FAA Reauthorization Letter, re: AvGas (July 2023)

Earthjustice, along with 92 other organizations and entities write to Chairwoman Cantwell, Ranking Member Cruz, Chairman Graves, and Ranking Member Larsen in opposition of Section 620 of the Senate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization bill and Section 431 of the House FAA Reauthorization bill, which would hamper the long overdue transition towards lead-free aviation fuels. The request is that these provisions be struck from the FAA Reauthorization bill in support of communities nationwide who continue to be exposed to unsafe levels of lead due to leaded aviation gasoline.

Conservation groups filed a notice of their intent to sue the Biden administration over violations of the Endangered Species Act unless approval of exploration projects in Arizona’s Patagonia Mountains is revoked within 60 days. The groups say the Forest Service and the Fish and Wildlife Service failed to accurately assess the risks the mining projects pose to Mexican spotted owls and Western yellow-billed cuckoos, two of the threatened species that live in the Patagonia Mountains.

Petition to Intervene – Wolfden mine

The Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, the Penobscot Nation, and the Natural Resources Council of Maine, represented by Earthjustice and Brann & Isaacson, joined the Conservation Law Foundation in petitioning to intervene in the review of Wolfden’s permit application to the Land Use Planning Commission (LUPC) to rezone the area for industrial uses.
