Lori Potter, a public lands lawyer in Denver who represents landowners and local governments on conservation issues, has agreed to join the Earthjustice Board of Trustees. She has served on the Earthjustice Council for the last three years.

“Now more than ever, Earthjustice is a bulwark against the forces that threaten the future of our small, blue planet,” Potter said. “As a former managing attorney for Earthjustice’s Rocky Mountain office, I know how important this organization is.”

Potter was a Staff and Managing Attorney in Earthjustice’s Rocky Mountain office from 1983–1996. She then co-founded her current law firm to represent landowners and local governments, and has spent the last 30 years working on conservation issues. Her firm recently worked together with Earthjustice to persuade the Department of Interior to cancel oil and gas leases in Colorado.

Potter also served on the board of Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and Conservation Colorado, and currently serves on the Board of Public Counsel of the Rockies.
