Christie Hicks is the managing attorney of the Clean Energy Program.

Based in Chicago, Christie oversees Earthjustice’s clean energy practice in more than 18 states and territories and at the federal level to phase out fossil-fuel power generation, clean up coal’s toxic legacy, and remove barriers to clean energy and electrification to ensure that it is accessible to everyone.

Prior to joining Earthjustice, Christie served as senior director and lead counsel at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), leading public utility commission work on the Legal and Regulatory team, where she also created a project to advance equitable regulatory solutions. Before joining EDF, Christie was a senior attorney at the Citizens Utility Board, an organization dedicated to fighting for consumer rights in Illinois, and she worked for the Chicago Board of Education.

Christie is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law and received her B.A. in Criminal Justice magna cum laude from Saint Louis University.
