Danika Desai is a senior associate attorney with the Oceans Team.

Danika received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2018 with a specialization in environmental law. During law school, she was awarded the Leader in Sustainability graduate certificate and the Los Angeles Sustainability Collaborative Research Fellowship. Interested in the intersection between the environment and agriculture, she published Soil Conservation in California: An Analysis of the Healthy Soils Initiative in the Environmental Law Review Syndicate.

Danika began her legal career as a law fellow at Oceana where she was introduced to the field of ocean conservation. She enjoyed a brief stint at a private law firm in South San Francisco before finding her way back to ocean advocacy with Earthjustice. She is excited to once again serve the oceans, and to help protect the beautiful and mysterious world under the water.

In her free time, Danika loves to hike, dance, and enjoy the sun.
