Jeremy Orr is the Director of Litigation & Advocacy Partnerships at Earthjustice. In this role, he helps Earthjustice’s offices, programs, and departments build strategies to deeply engage and genuinely partner with communities and other stakeholders.

Prior to joining Earthjustice, Jeremy served as a senior attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council, where he focused on drinking water and source water protection, working to ensure that all people have access to safe, sufficient, and affordable drinking water. Immediately before that, he served as the national director of state programs for the Peoples Climate Movement, building and mobilizing climate justice coalitions across more than 20 states.

With a background in community organizing and community lawyering, Jeremy has also served as the national director of organizing for Interfaith Worker Justice, an environmental justice attorney with the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic, executive director of the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, and a lead community organizer with the Gamaliel Foundation. He previously served as Vice Chair of the Michigan Environmental Rules Review Committee and as a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC).

Jeremy earned his B.S., M.S., and J.D. from Michigan State University and is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois. He also teaches environmental law courses as an adjunct professor at Michigan State University College of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
