Lauren Tanel is a legal practice assistant with the Alaska Regional Office.

She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area on Coastal Miwok unceded territory. In 2022, Lauren graduated from Haverford College with a degree in environmental studies, focusing on traditional land management philosophies and food systems. She moved up to Juneau, Alaska, following her passion for community-led conservation and environmental activism. Lauren is now grateful to live and work on A’akw Kwáan, bordering T’aaḵu Kwáan, ancestral lands.
