Manny Rutinel is an associate attorney for Earthjustice’s Sustainable Food and Farming Program. Manny received his J.D. from Yale Law School. While in law school, he founded Climate Refarm — a company leveraging carbon offset credits to pay food providers and farmers to switch to plant-based options. He was also a summer law clerk at the Animal Legal Defense Fund and San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, a field organizer for the Georgia runoff elections, and a research assistant for the Harvard Animal Law and Policy Program. Previously, Manny was an economist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he also served as a first responder to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. Manny holds an M.S. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and both a B.S. in Microbiology and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida.
