Michelle Ghafar is a senior attorney with Earthjustice’s California regional office in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Earthjustice, Michelle served as a public service fellow at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR) in San Francisco and staffed LCCR’s Second Chance Reentry Legal Clinic.

She is a graduate of UCLA School of Law, where she completed both the Epstein Public Interest Law & Policy Program as well as the Critical Race Studies Specialization. At UCLA Law, she was a senior editor for the UCLA Law Review and worked at the East Bay Community Law Center and the ACLU. Her student Comment, “Exiting Solitary Confinement: A Survey of State Correctional Policies” was published in the UCLA Law Review.
