Tim Oberleiton is a senior attorney with the Right to Zero team.

His work focuses on reducing emissions from the building, power, transportation, and industrial sectors in D.C. and Maryland. Tim routinely represents community and environmental groups, primarily in cases before public service commissions where he works to curb gas utility investments and advocates for building electrification to provide clean, healthy, and affordable spaces for all.

Prior to joining Earthjustice, Tim served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Division of Law – Public Utilities Section, and came to Earthjustice from the D.C. Office of the People’s Counsel where he focused on gas and electric utility matters before the D.C. Public Service Commission and FERC.

Tim graduated with a B.A. in History from Rutgers University and received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law — Newark.
