“On his first day in office, President Trump tried to revoke protections against offshore oil drilling for most of America's oceans.
“So today, Earthjustice went to federal court to file the first environmental lawsuit against the second Trump administration.
“The only reason for President Trump to take that action is because his administration wants to expand offshore oil drilling to places it's never been in the United States.
“The federal law here gives presidents the authority to protect the oceans from offshore oil drilling. But if those protections are to be reversed, the law reserves that decision to Congress, not the president.
“America is blessed with a strong suite of environmental laws, and they make what President Trump did illegal. That's why we're going to court to stop it.”
