John Beard, Jr., is a petrochemical worker turned environmental advocate living on the frontlines of fossil fuel pollution in Port Arthur, TX.

Fossil fuel companies in Port Arthur and across the U.S. are trying to expand their petrochemical production and exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Beard has spent the past several years fighting the expansion of these polluting industries in his backyard and opposing efforts to weaken environmental laws that keep communities safe.

John Beard’s organization, Port Arthur Community Action Network, partnered with Earthjustice and Earthworks to bring members of Congress to Port Arthur to see the impacts of the oil, gas, and petrochemical build out. This video tells that story.
