Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen released this statement today:
“Today marks the 100th anniversary of one of the worst racial massacres in U.S. history when a white mob killed hundreds of African Americans and destroyed ‘Black Wall Street’ — a thriving business district in the Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“No one was ever held accountable for the killings and the plunder of wealth, and it serves as reminder of the systemic injustice and violence that Black people in this nation still face a century later.
“Earthjustice stands in support of the Tulsa victims and their descendants in calling for remembrance, justice, and accountability for this egregious chapter of American history.”
