RIGHT TO BREATHE: 50 STATES UNITED

I am disheartened by Oregon's level of industrial air pollution, which includes our continued reliance on coal.

I am a physician, and I write, lecture and teach about the health consequences of environmental degradation and social injustice. Air pollution has affected me personally, as I cannot run outside on bad air quality days due to wheezing. I am also concerned for my family—especially my daughter, niece and nephew.

I am disheartened by Oregon's level of industrial air pollution, which includes our continued reliance on coal—the Boardman coal-fired power plant—diesel fumes from trucks going through the I-5 Highway corridor, our Superfund site on the Willamette River, and burning of trash and other wastes at the Salem incinerator. (An incinerator has also been proposed for McMinnville.)

I want President Obama, members of Congress and officials at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to know that we need stronger air pollution standards and higher levels of preparedness for disasters.

All Messages: Supporting Our Clean Air Ambassadors.

Dr. Donohoe, thank you for your efforts to advocate on behalf of us, the residents of Oregon.

Thank yu Mr Donohoe

I have lived on Chehalem Mt. near Sherwood since 1992. I moved out from the city because I have COPD.

Every year during foggy days I see the inversion layer of orange air creep up Mt. Hood which is my view. When the smog rises now on the worst days it reaches my home at 850 feet.

The aire is not getting better.

Thank you for taking a stand! Polluters need to be made accountable, from the coal companies to one's next door neighbors burning plastic products in their fire places, and spraying poisons on their properties.

Thanks for being there and bringing awareness of the pollution issues we all face. We are lucky for many things in Oregon, most of all for the folks who care enough to help preserve and protect the our basic human right to a healthy environment.

WE ALL NEED CLEAN AIR FOR OUR HEALTH!

Portland, Oregon has been ranked by the EPA as having some of the worst air in the country (many neighborhoods in the bottom 2%). Many people consider this a healthy, green city but poor air quality is our dirty secret. We need clean here and everywhere in the United States.

Thanks for taking the time to work for cleaner air in Oregon!

We must preserve for our children.

Dr. Donohoe, thanks for defending our right to breathe!

Air pollution that keep children indoors during the warm months is just criminal.

Why do we allow polluters to steal childhood from our kids?
